Meet the Ugly Easel
Our easels might not look like they're brand new, but that's the point. We re-use materials that are considered too ugly and leave the character for you to see and appreciate. That's because the timber has a history and a story that you won't find in most products. Here's why you should choose a sustainable easel from SUM Design:
Re-used timber
We've sourced quality hardwood destined for the scrap heap. Each easel has a story engrained into every piece of timber used. Our first batch of easels came from the old Willeton basketball court. Every easel is literally a part of Western Australian history.
Quality WA hardwood
Traditional easels are built from weaker pine wood, whereas the Ugly Easel only uses WA grown hardwood. Making it stronger and more durable.
Handmade in WA
Each Ugly Easel is handmade in Perth, Western Australia. You're not only supporting a local WA business with each purchase, but you also get to own a piece of WA history.
